Welcome to The Whole PK

I have wanted to start a blog for a while now - but somehow I didn't feel I was qualified to create one! I love the idea of having all my thoughts, and good ideas beautifully documented through photographs and witty comments but am I witty, and do I have good ideas...?!

and there is the name issue......... something catchy and cool yet informative.....

Then there is the content issue... will I be funny, engaging, informative...?

Or maybe no one will read it?

Perhaps it is for my own personal satisfaction?

However, it has been playing on my mind for over 6 months now and I am embracing my new mantra, which is all about the CAN'S and never about the CAN'TS, so here we go.

Welcome to my new shiny and exciting blog which will follow my continuing journey into well-being, fitness, food, health and everything else that life throws my way.

I asked a good friend what I could write about for my first post, he suggested that I introduce myself and explain what I am trying to achieve etc. Seemed like a sensible place to start so here we go.

I'm a 32 year old woman who has recently given herself a complete mental and physical overhaul by embracing a new lifestyle of healthy eating, fitness and well-being. This has been a continuous process over the last two years, and I can honestly say I have never felt better - I have eaten and sweated myself happy.

OK, so what is this new lifestyle?

Nothing complicated, I promise! - I eat as many plant based whole foods as I can, (mainly avocados and hummus!) avoid refined sugar and cows dairy where possible and I train 5 or 6 days a week in a mixture of studio classes and weighted work in the gym. I love cooking, experimenting with new ideas and combining this with working out to find out how far my body can take me. I have just embarked on a Sports Nutrition Course which I am hoping to complete by the end of 2018.

Hopefully through my posts I can give you an honest insight into how I have achieved this turn around in my life, and what I am tackling now. I really believe that you cannot separate out nutrition, or fitness or well-being as each one complements each other. It is about taking the yourself as a whole and working on everything together to give you the best and happiest version of yourself.

In short, life is currently full of excitement, new challenges both for my body and my mind, but I am taking each day as it comes and making sure to keep myself sane with the odd portion of chips!
